We’re on the home stretch for party season – yay! Party season extends from May (Max) through June (Badoo) into August (me) and up to October (Cappers). It’s Cappers’ birthday in a couple of days in fact! Happy birthday, darling girl.
Wait a minute… Max, Badoo, me, Cappers… um, actually, my man has his birthday the day before Cappers’ but he maintains that his baby ate his birthday. This is true.
Generally by October I’m tired – aren’t you? Doesn’t October make you tired? I have tendency to want to lie down and die by October. Which is why I rally because I don’t want to let my little girl down with a sub-standard party when I went all-out for her brother and sister earlier in the year. As a result, Cappers has the best parties. And then I lie down and die.
This year she has chosen a tropical island theme – whittled down from her wanting to take all her friends to Fiji. One day, Cappers, one day when you’re rich.
In the meantime, we’ll make sure her life is rich in experiences instead… so stand by for the tropical island party to end all parties (I wish – the parties just keep on going). Still, I do enjoy planning and creating a party and the more I do, the easier it gets. Let’s just say I’m on island time all the way with this one…
Are you planning anything special right now? Are you enjoying it?

I think sometimes, even though we feel crazy in the midst of it all, planning and preparing for celebrations keeps us on track to what matters most in life – don’t you think? I am tired. I am busy. I want to curl and sleep till its January. But slowly simmering is a wedding I am going to be a bridesmaid in, a new little baby was born in our family today – so interstate trips being planned to meet our new bundle of joy – and yes, Christmas – mad a chaotic – but family time. Checkpoints along the way I guess xx Your parties are always simply stunning Bron xx

This is so very, very true, Josefa. Making room in our lives to really celebrate the good bits is surely what it’s all about. Every time I think “I don’t want to do these parties anymore, here, have a sausage”, I pull my head in. Truth is I LOVE making the big fuss and being creative doing things myself. It means I can put on a bit of a show to celebrate a birthday milestone without spending a great deal. That means a lot.
Enjoy your celebrations. Lots going on for you! x

Those invitations make me want to throw a party just so I can send them, Bron!
Bell and I have started planning Christmas already, and each year she seems to add a new tradition. She’s just decided that our whole family are doing handmade only for Secret Santa this year. I love all the excitement in the countdown, and getting together with family that we don’t get to see enough of during the year.
I can’t wait to see all your guests in their island finery x

I wish I could convince my fam to do ‘handmade’ but they all laugh at me whenever I bring it up. x
