I don’t know why. I don’t even know how. Of all the wonderful, dreamy, clever and moving songs in the world. Of all the memory-inducing, good-times/ bad-times, living it like it is songs.
Of all the amazing songs in the world, this is the fave.
It doesn’t even have special memory attached. I just heard it years and years ago, I liked it, I played it, I danced to it, it never went away.
Are you also somewhat embarrased by your favourite song? Just me, huh?
Bubby Makes Three says

Thank you lovely lady, hearing that song has put me in the most awesomeeee of moods!
My embarrassing fave song would have to be ‘Push It’ by Salt N Pepa! Or anything by Queen … Though I will readily tell you that I am obsessed with Freddie Mercury š hahaha
Gill@OurParklife says
This is not an embarrassing song…It is pure awesomeness…!
MM’s brother even had if for his first dance at his wedding last year…It was hilarious but fitting as it is “his” song…
And I have so many of these songs in the musical closet…Groove is in the Heart by DeeLite, Anything by Salt & Pepper, but particularly “Whatta man”…..
I could go on, but I will spare you the pain….

I’d completely forgotten about it until last year when it featured on an episode of Glee.
Now the girls and I ‘pump up the volume’ on the car stereo to the max when someone selects it on the ipod!
You gotta love Glee for introducing our teens to our daggy songs from the 80’s!

Dont be at all embarrassed – my husband and his best mate bonded over Rick Astley as 6 year old – AND then proceeded to ensure one of his songs was played at out wedding so THEY could reminisce š

SNAP. Can sing every word from the opening ‘Bust it”. I have many, bad favourite songs. Let’s just say this: my bridal waltz was “Africa. By Toto”. Say no more. Great song, love it, no relevance but those opening bars? Da da da da da da daaaaah….brillant.

Oh Yeeeeeah! …Shes dressed in yellow, she says hello, come sit next to me my fine fellow. My girlfriends and I would dress up in bike shorts and bra tops and bootie dance around the bedroom to this one. Do you remember Me, myself and I, (De la Soul) and Mr Wendel (Arressted Development) aw, aw and who could forget the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme tune. Good times…happy, happy memories – thanks for sharing!!

Hey, Maxabella! Welcome back from your vacation. I’ve been “bustin a move” in my kitchen–much improved over the domestic godlessness pics! I don’t have a favorite song, per se, nor did the Hubs and I ever designate “our song.” But, I think our song these days would have to be “Danny’s Song” (just found out on Youtube that’s the official title) that says, “Even though we ain’t got money, I’m so in love with you honey…” Everytime I go to the grocery store around the corner from my house with a pocketful of pennies wondering hour I’m going to get all of the groceries I need for the week, that song is playing and I just have to smile and love it! here’s a link for Anne Murray’s version of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ko9nGrGtAY&feature=related

Bust a move – wasn’t expecting that. I just saw the “related” post at the bottom of another one in the widget, and I saw the thumbnail and I thought it was going to be Martika!
What is kinda of amusing, in a scary way, on the way to class in the library I walked past some 3rd or 4th graders doing their annual “dance fever” lessons with a professional dance instructor. His choice of boogie tunes for these impressionable youngsters? “Bust A Move”. My year 11 class were impressed I knew all the words to that tune, but I was worried that lyrically it wasn’t appropriate for the 3rd graders, even if they could find the real meaning in a lyric like:
“…a bridesmaid looks and thinks that you’re winking, she thinks you look cute, so she winks back and now you’re feeling pretty firm ‘cos the girl is stacked…”
