I’m taking a break from my Difficult People series. It was all a bit… difficult. In its place, I’m introducing a new Thursday series called ‘Wearing Clever Clogs’.
One of the things I love most about blogging is the way my imagination sparkles when I see what other people are creating. There are so many fine design, art and craft blogs out there and I would like the opportunity to swim in the fountain of their inspiration (so to speak). So I’ll be asking them a few choice questions about their work and life and linking to some highlights on their blogs.
I am looking forward to opening up the creative blogging world to a wider audience via Maxabella loves… So join me next Thursday for our first installment.
Aaaand… to whet your appetite, here are five links to five brilliantly easy to follow tutorials:
1. Sweet little fabric flowers to brighten up a gift from How About Orange
2. Magical tissue pom poms from Imperfectly Beautiful
3. Don’t sew a No-Sew Tutu from Design Mom
4. Hang a Dancing Hedgehog cut-paper garland (how can you resist!?) at Alyoops
5. Make a pinwheel or two at Yellow Songbird

PS – just in case my ‘Pay It Forward’ five are wondering where I am… fear not. I will be making your ‘something’ and sending it to you by the end of the month. I’ll email you for an addy.

I think that is a pretty spesh idea! And those clogs are quite pretty by the way 🙂

I’m like you… totally inspired by others creative abilities. I make my own cards (because I cannot justify spending $6 on just one) and it’s such a great creative outlet. And then I cook. Oh, how I love to cook. But when it comes to sewing, I’m illiterate. Really, I am. My husband joked that I was good at putting on buttons. But that’s the extent of it. But love the inspiration. Now off to visit these lovely blogs that I’ve never visited before!!!
I’m looking forward to your new Thursday night thing. I enjoyed your Difficult People series, but think I will enjoy this new segment just as much. xx
Brenda @ Mira Narnie says

I find making things a challenge! I like the thought of it, but when I put it into practise it all seems to go pear shaped. Story of my life! But I love clogs and I love clever, creative people. Totally agree, they are such an inspiration – couldn’t live without them…or clogs! ; ) Alison x

Before we moved here me and my boy were busy fighting all the bad stuff in the world. We were protesting and blockading. But we made a big decision one day to stop trying to make change in a negative way and start tring to make a difference in a positive way. So we moved here and started growing organic food with love and integrity. Its our small way.
I think your way of focusing on the good and clever stuff is a great way too.
I don’t know if I fit your category or if I’ve got anything of interest to say but if you want me you know where to find me. X

This is a great idea. Youll do all the hard finding work for us and we can all sit back and enjoy the inspiring ride.
Youve just reminded me that I dont have the addresses for two out of my three ‘pay it forward’ people! My date is nearly here too, x

Excellent! I will definately be tuning in on thursdays. I wish I was clever and crafty but sadly I am merely a wannabe. I so admire those that have the gift and do try my hand at a few things – knitting, sewing and general craft with the kids but it is pretty basic. I will keep trying and admiring however! xxx

I make very simple things – cards, fabric covered buttons, that sort of thing. I also make foodie type gifts for people. Love looking at the genius crafty blogs out there. So easy to lose so much time doing it!

I never knew fabric stiffening spray existed. How. Excitement. Must look for it in Spotlight next time I go.
