I cut back the wandering wisteria vines a couple of weeks ago and then I thought, “Look at all those long strips of vine. I know, I’ll weave a love heart for the chicken coop.” As you do.
So I got busy stripping the leaves and then even busier weaving the vines together to make a rather lopsided heart. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.
It’s gigantic.
I like it so much I think I’ll keep it for myself. I’ll hang it above my bed when we change bedrooms (yes, the room change I reported was happening ‘in about a month’ last July has still not actually happened). The chickens can have something else!
What creative stuff are you working on right now?
Andrea says
Impressive! Will it fit in your bedroom? We have wisteria too, so I’ll be saving the cut offs for something similar:)x
Amanda says
Very cute! Be sure to post a photo of it when you put it up in your room x

Oh, I love that. And on a wall above your bed…fab!
On being creative…I’m about to sign up to do an online creative writing course with SWC! I can’t wait. Writing fiction was my very first writing love. 🙂
I have to read To Kill a Mockingbird first though, so I’m doing that now and I’m loving it. Then it’s ship the boys back to school, sign up and enjoy my course! Yippee!

Oh Bron it’s gorgeous! I am totally into stuff like that. Taking the every day around the home stuff and using it. string it with some fairy lights and of a night time it will be magical.

Ohhhhh LOVE! You are very clever! I love it. I have no creative things on the go right now. I was meant to help Keely make a shell necklace this week, and still plan on doing that before school goes back. We are lucky to have a whole bunch of shells on our beach that ironically have a mini hole in them, perfect for threading.
Wisteria is beautiful xx

I am not sure if I have ever seen a love heart of vines in the chook house before, and I have seen the odd chook house being a farm kid…
Rather Fancy. I love it.

I LOVE THIS. So much. I want to make nine but i don’t have any wisteria.

Sadly, I’ve not a creative bone in my body. But if I had that heart (It’s gorgeous), I’d string those tiny, tiny little lights on it. Then put it up somewhere. Romantic and pretty.
Megan says
Ooh, it’s gorgeous! I do love love hearts. Now I just need to find someone with some viney type plant so I can make me one!
Sarah says
Just gorgeous! Maybe get some crystal drops from a craft shop to hang from it and it definitely needs some little lights! x
Naomi says
What a great view out of a window! And I can see why you might want it on a wall too. A great thing to hang over a double bed – very romantic. Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my blog.

I adore wisteria! I was so … miffed! when rabbits ate through the base of the fledlings I planted!
And I love bunnies. But not that day.

The art of the angle, if something is not perfect shape or symmetrical, hang it on an angle. I have a hula hoop like this, only round, like a hula hoop, threaded faux flowers through it, really pretty & so easy, starting off with a form.
Fairy lights, don’t forget the fairy lights, if your husband laughs, hang it in a stair well or a children’s room, done. Love Posie

We had the most amazing wisteria at our house in Melbourne. It was a regular stop for walking & gardening groups as I believe it was around 100 years old! We’ve just bought some to plant on our soon to be arbour back here in Queensland. I hope it grows … and well enough so I can one day weave a wisteria heart.

We just did a very hard prune on the wisteria. The plant is an unstoppable beast. I love your heart idea. I have used the vines to make a wigwam.
Deb @ Bright and Precious says
Wisteria is one of my favourites. The love heart seems to have come from your heart. You should keep it. Above your bed, yes. x
