Happy happy Springtime!
I like any ‘ch-ch-change’ in the seasons. Doesn’t matter if it’s cold and I can feel the warmth begin to seep back in or if it’s a furnace and a cool breeze comes from nowhere. Just knowing that a new season is a-coming is enough to put a smile in my step and a spring on my face.
This year we actually remembered to get our bulbs in by Anzac Day so I’m eagerly awaiting a swag of muscari to dance with our existing freesias and jonquils. Forget about the hyacinths – I love them so much, but clearly not enough to actually lift them out of the soil and store them and refrigerate them and put them back in. Each year they pop up expectantly and throw out a feeble flower for a day or two and then die back ready for another dress rehearsal next year. Divas.
