What do you think about a blogging conference on a boat?
I’m just going to leave that question hanging there for a minute.
The new (at least, new to me) Google Helpouts are clever and, well, helpful one presumes. You get an expert to help you with a problem via ‘live video chat’ (I can see this growing rapidly in the porn sector). Some are free, some are paid (see note above). Here’s Darwin Sayo’s guide to taking better pictures page.
Problogger talks about the importance of the visual in blogging. A reason why we all need Sayo’s guide to talking better pictures!
During the week, Telstra hosted the 2013 Australian Digital Summit. According to their marketers, they brought ‘some of the world’s best bloggers and digital thought leaders together’. Their wrap up of the event started like this:
11.00 am: Our facilitator Monty Hamilton makes us laugh in his introduction by saying, “Here at Telstra we don’t believe in shutting your phones off – leave them on. But please, switch them to silent”.
Boom, tish. Dear god help us all.
The rest of the day doesn’t seem to get any better. It looks like this event took the world’s best bloggers and digital thought leaders and painted them grey. YAWN fest.
So, really, don’t even look. Instead, look at this: Becky’s letting her teenage muse run free; Aubrey is just beyond lovely and I’m so glad she linked up with us last weeks so we could find her (and she’s making room for less); and Emily gives us all another raucous laugh for all the right reasons. Yep, that’s what the world’s best bloggers are writing, Telstra. Why aren’t you here?
Back to the boat question… er, it’s a no from me. Boats do not offer enough ‘away’ space for me to even consider that one!! Oh, the humanity! What do you think?
Happy reading!
