This time I’ve popped over to Alice Becomes to talk about losing that sense of wonderment that we all had growing up. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while now and I think I’ve made my peace with it… sort of…
I’ve been a follower of Alice Becomes since… well, since back when they were channeling Blur. Nic and Gil are both talented writers with a unique perspective on life, children, parenting and being organised. Come see…
I absolutely loved Karen‘s comment on the post and her approach to keeping ‘wonder’ in her life.
I am going to revisit my attitude to ‘doing things’ as a result!Sigh. Have you lost that wonderment feeling?

PS – Speaking of wonder – Wonder Woman (Cate Bolt) needs your support to achieve her SunSuper dream to help homeless children in Indonesia. It’s just a little click and takes less than a minute. Please just get in there and help Cate help others.[Image photographed by Annie Lebovitz for Vogue, December 2003 found here]

As well as your postie deliveries, I’m loving your new selection of Annie Leibovitz photographs. They are truly amazing!
I just don’t want to grow up. Feels like it’s just not fun anymore. (Can you tell my 40th is around the corner?)
You’re visiting the BEST places!

I’ll have to visit her blog, sometimes I do lose that sense, but blogging always brings it back to me.

Thanks for the love.
I love that even though you’re not technically posting here (although you kinda are?) you’re still WHOOSHing your way around blogland. Keep guest posting, it’s fun to see where you pop up next! Like Where’s Wally, but less stripey. x

Your comment thingo has all changed! I don’t blog for a couple of days and the whole setup has moved on without me. Nature doco’s always leave me with a childlike sense of wonderment..I am always amazed at what I don’t know about the world!

Thank you for your lovely post. I was quite excited when I saw it “starred” in the Alice inbox. It was like getting a ticket to a sneak preview movie or secret gig.
I hope what I say next isn’t presumptuous – I couldn’t help but connect what you had to say about Wonder with your Time Suck post. Don’t you need time to wonder? You sound busy and as you say tired. I’m not an expert on wondering but I am a bit of a coaster, lazy even. It means I achieve less but I do wonder well. It’s the one thing I really do well and I just suck at being busy! You mentioned that you are an all or nothing person and that must be tiring. I’m trying hard not to sound condescending but be kind to yourself.

I wonder at my children, and my life every day. Nothing out of this world but a long way from where it could have ended up x

I try and step back and watch my girls, particularly the little one and how she enjoys the simple little things like ladybugs, it’s very sweet. And the other weekend I watched my baby niece pick at the grass, I love watching them explore. I hope you find that feeling of wonderment again. xo

Thank you Gil.
I just want to explain that it’s not a lack of wonder in my life, but that feeling of endless possibilities. I don’t think I worded my post too well! x
