There is something very special about Maxabella loves… and it’s not me, it’s you.
The little community we’ve grown here together is absolutely amazing. I know that lots of bloggers have ‘met’ each other through the the comments on each post, liking the way a person phrases something and checking out their blog. Through the Grateful linky many have gone on to become great friends and that makes me feel like I’m doing something right.
People come over here to hang out and continue the conversation. Intelligent, creative, wise and wonderful women all contribute to this blog. My posts are just the entree, the comments have always been the main course.
Which got me thinking about dessert…
I’ve got this idea to turn my Sunday posts into ‘Dear Lovelies’ – where we pose a question to the Maxabella Lovelies that needs a collective solution. You see, I get emails seeking advice from time to time (I know, they forget I’m just the entree!) which I give some thought to and email back what I think. But I think it would be great if I posed their question on Sundays and sought the advice of all who come here… together we can help!
I’ve sort of done it before here, here and definitely here, but I want to enhance this by doing it weekly, and adding a collective solution to a conundrum based on the comments left on the post. I’d add this to the end of the post after all the comments were in, linking back to it the following week.
A bit like an Agony Aunt column but there are lots and lots of Aunties. Blogging Aunties. I can’t wait to get started next week. Oh and you can email me with an idea for a problem to discuss, confidentiality firmly assured. If you’re facing a challenge, just something you’re struggling with, something that happened that you don’t understand, something big or little that you’re facing and you just don’t know what to do.
Now, this may seem a little off topic, but bear with me. I realised that we need a collective noun for a group of bloggers and I’m thinking ‘an advice of bloggers’ or ‘a support of bloggers’… see, it ties in!

A bloggle? Hmmm
Michelle says
I was thinking along the lines of when you are in a boggle or you are mind boggled a bloggle could help?
Miss Pink says
I don’t know why but a gaggle of bloggers seems fitting.
Maybe because gaggle makes me think of a chatty noisy room, and that’s pretty spot on with how blogging events are.
therhythmmethod says
I think aunties is a great collective noun for female bloggers. For while they might have their own problems, they’re always willing to pitch in when someone needs a shoulder or an ear (or some other body part?)
Great idea x
Tricia Rose says
A crony of bloggers, or even better, a crone. Good word, underused.
Toni says
I like Miss Pinks’ idea!! except that it also pertains to geese *sad face*
I’m not good at coining collective nouns. I just went through hubble, convention, and chatter, before getting sidetracked by lovely nouns such as a parliament of owls, and then that reminded me of a picture I saw the other day of two crows sitting on a fence, and it was captioned ATTEMPTED MURDER.
Easily distracted.
Kind of leaning towards ‘discussion’ now.
Jenny says
Gaggle was also the first word that came into my head!
Michelle says
You are always looking out for others its such a special trait to have 🙂
I’d say a council of bloggers
trudi@maudeandme says
A “circle of bloggers” came to me. Focused on the “spot” in blogspot and thought “spot” was too small for a collective. Also circle is reflective of how things circulate in bloggy land.
Kelly Exeter says
Ooh I like tricia’s idea … a crony of bloggers! So apt!
Kim H says
What fun and what a great idea, Bron. Though you know that you really are not the entree. You are the 3 course meal my lovely bloggy friend …xx
Seana says
LOL… a giggle of bloggers, I do love the idea of a boggle of bloggers as the mind would boggle no doubt at some of the answers. “Aunties’ hugely appeals, an ‘aunty of bloggers’ doesn’t have a great ring though.
I love the notion of a circle of bloggers, or the bloggers’ circle… will put thinking cap on whilst bathing this mucky little lass beside me.
Simoney says
LOVE the idea.
I know where to turn now (anonymously) if I have perplexing questions that only a flock? gaggle? boggle? of bloggers could help with.
Roll on Dear Lovelies, I say…
x
Ames says
When I first read that I thought it said boogers instead of bloggers.
I don’t know what that means though…
Excited about Dear Lovelies!
Kate Sins says
I’m with Tricia Rose-crone is such an underused word and so befitting this gorgeous idea.
Cannot wait to see this all take shape. Thank you bron for bringing the possibility of solutions. xx
Sandra says
A reach of bloggers?
An upload of bloggers?
A post of bloggers?
LionessLady says
I liked your boggle of bloggers suggestion on fb! Good idea re your agony aunt concept too 😉
Polly says
I think its a lovely idea, AND..Im a little bit thrilled that you visited my blog xx
Kymmie says
What a great idea! I’m not sure what a group of bloggers might be. I’ll put my thinking cap on.
I love the community you have here. It’s so lovely! xx
Shelley @ My Shoebox Life says
Oh I love this! I do like the idea of a Bloggers Circle, a bunch of bloggers in a circle, yes, what a lovely Sunday. xx
marybelle says
A BRAINWAVE of bloggers
Sarah says
Great idea!
Go with what feels right – you can always change it later…
Lets rock and roll!
Maryandlil says
Sisterhood of bloggers?!?! Great idea!!! X
Maryandlil says
So, the blog sisters…yeah.,,.
_vTg_ says
My first thought was a chatter of bloggers.
Or a conference of bloggers? It’s like a trade fair where everyone has their own table with their own “stuff”, but routinely cruises over to the other tables to see what’s up and have a chat.
Brighton Breezy Sarah says
Well, as a gathering of ravens is known as an “unkindness”, I think a “kindness” of bloggers would be rather good – behaviour rules built in!

Kirsty @ Bowerbird Blue says
Love the bloggle, or boggle.
Cherie @ 'a baby called Max' says
“My posts are just the entree, the comments have always been the main course”.
I adore you.
For your ability to be so damn humble 🙂
I honestly get so much community out of the people who comment on blogs alone, & I love commenting back.
And I love reading the commenting sections of my favourite bloggers, because you read so many amazing words from intelligent, thoughtful, & often considerate women.
Even the trolls. They taught me that I don’t need to always ‘respond’.
There’s something incredibly dignified about dignified silence 🙂
Actually, you taught me that.
And this is why I love this community.
I really do get more out of it than I even put in 🙂
You can’t often say that about many things in life 🙂
Looking forward to this section!
xx
Chelle says
I like the idea of a mosaic of bloggers. All individual but combined make up an awesomely, beautiful picture
Lib says
Oooooh such a good challenge:)
As the word blog is a portmanteau (combination of to words) of web log I’m trying to think of a suitable combo of words that describe bloggers….yet to come up with any aside from ‘workshoppers’….bloggers do love to workshop 🙂
I will keenly anticipate this new initiative Bron:)
Lisa @ HomeWorkMum says
Gorgeous idea Bron! You’ve already generously helped me, and I think making this a regular thing is fabulous. xx
Michelle says
Ha! I take back the ‘bloggle’ idea… I just googled it
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bloggle

What about “an embrace of bloggers” as in we support and embrace each other?
At Number 32 says
Great idea….brain storming at it’s finest!
I love the term ‘bloggle’….seems fiting to me.
Emily says
HOORAY for collective nouns! I bet you knew I’d be commenting on this one!
Perhaps something that captures the noise of hundreds of bloggers’ keyboards. A clatter of bloggers? A clickety-clack of bloggers?
Or a play on words. We click through to each other’s blogs. A click of bloggers? Click/clique? No?
Cue tumbleweed. Cue noisy cricket. I’m out.
dixiebelle says
Just like blog came from the two words ‘web log’, maybe the name should come from ‘group’ & ‘blogger’… grogger. LOL Haven’t you always wanted to be a member of a grogger! It’s that, or bloup.
🙂 The concept is great, good luck!
Veggie Mama says
A cache of bloggers. Ugh bad computer pun.
Brenda @ Mira Narnie says
Happy thought bron!! Perfect platform to help all of us solve today’s issues…..As for a name….I have no idea!!!!
Deb @ home life simplified says
great idea – looking forward to it – circle of bloggers comes to mind or a klatch (as in a coffee klatch)
Deb @ Bright and Precious says
What a lovely thought – I like the idea that we all support each other rather than compete.
A bliss of bloggers.
emma @ frog, goose and bear says
a beautiful, encouraging, brilliant idea. You are always full of good ideas! I think this happens already on your blog, so perfect to make it more formal.
Little Pinwheel says
you are more than the entree…. you are beautiful to even think of doing this. x
I love bloggle!…What a great idea michelle!
Carli@tinysavages.com says
Fabulous idea. I’m only a recent reader/commenter of your blog but I got that it was a warm and inviting place to come from the get go.
As for a group of bloggers, I quite like a collective x
Anna @ green tea n toast says
Great idea – looking forward to the first post already. x

You’ve got yourself some very witty collectives to choose from so I wont add to the mix (says she who’s head hurts at the thought of coming up with one!) – also cant wait to see these posts each week, you gorgeous soul x
